FAQs
Welcome to Nate's Nets! Below you'll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our custom treenet installations, services, and processes. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out to us at natesnets23@gmail.com.
1. What are treenets?
Treenets are large, hammock-like nets suspended between trees or custom posts. They’re designed for relaxation, adventure, or play and can accommodate multiple people at once. We customize each treenet to suit your space and needs, whether it’s for a backyard, school, Airbnb, or public park.
2. What materials do you use?
We use 550 paracord from trusted Canadian suppliers and 12,000 lb-rated arborist/marine rope for durability and safety. Protective wood pieces or 'Treeguards' prevent tree girdling, and lag eye bolts are used for secure attachment points when necessary.
3. How long do treenets last?
With proper maintenance, our treenets can last over 10 years. We offer a 2-year warranty and provide maintenance checks to ensure longevity.
4. Where do you operate?
We primarily serve British Columbia, with installations from Calgary to Victoria and everywhere in between. We do however service all of Canada and have projects in Manitoba and Ontario lined up already!
5. Are treenets safe?
Yes! Safety is our top priority. We conduct thorough tree health assessments, use high-quality materials, and personally test each treenet (with an official backflips test). Our team is certified in Working at Heights (SPRAT & IRATA) and OFA3, and we follow strict safety protocols during installation.
6. How does the installation process work?
Our installation process includes:
Site Evaluation: We assess tree health, positioning, ground composition, and your goals. Trees must be at least 18 inches in circumference and healthy.
Design & Customization: We create a treenet vision tailored to your space and intended use.
Installation: Using certified techniques and tools, we securely install the treenet.
Post-Installation Maintenance: We conduct an initial check after 3 weeks and offer annual inspections upon request during the warranty period.
7. How long does it take to install a treenet?
The installation typically takes anywhere between 3 and 21 days, depending on the size and complexity of the project.
8. Can you install treenets indoors?
Yes! We offer indoor solutions like loft nets for unique and functional spaces.
9. What if my trees aren’t suitable for a treenet?
If your trees aren’t suitable, we can install custom posts to support the treenet. This ensures you can still enjoy the experience, even without the right trees.
10. How much do treenets cost?
Our pricing starts at $100/sq ft for nets under 6 feet high. For heights above 6 feet, the price starts at $200/sq ft. Custom pricing includes materials, labor, installation, travel, and add-ons. This is just a rough guide for pricing as every project is different and we believe everybody deserves a treenet and so will always try our best to work within each customer's budget.
11. Do you offer payment plans?
We currently do not offer payment plans. However, we’re happy to discuss the project scope and provide a detailed quote to help you plan your budget.
12. Are there any additional costs?
Travel costs for site evaluations and maintenance checks outside of our main service areas may apply. These will be outlined in your quote.
13. What’s included in the 2-year warranty?
Our warranty covers material defects and workmanship. Maintenance checks are included, but travel costs for inspections are the customer’s responsibility.
14. How do I maintain my treenet?
We recommend regular inspections to ensure the treenet remains secure and safe. Avoid exposing the net to sharp objects or excessive weight beyond its capacity.
